Through breath, we bring our body chemistry into balance so the mind can settle. Through soothing sound, we create space for the inner noise to soften. Through silence, we remember how to listen to our own heartbeat.

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a safe space for busy minds.

Hearing is passive, our ears perceive vibration. Listening is active, we choose where to place our attention.

How we experience sound is shaped by our bodies, our histories, and our current level of stress. When we practice deep listening, something shifts. The nervous system responds to rhythm and frequency, often moving from alertness into a more regulated state.

During a sound bath, you’re invited to get comfortable, close your eyes if that feels right, and allow yourself to be supported by sound. Crystal bowls on 432 Hz, rainsticks, chimes, and voice create the environment. Your body and mind do the rest.

There is nothing to achieve. No performance. Simply an opportunity to rest in a supported way.

A moment to listen to the sounds around and within you, under a clear blue sky.

Nice to meet you,
I’m Fefa

Alba is a space to share what I practice: the art of coming back to balance through breath.

“Sound healing” can sound a little out there. A few years ago, I might have rolled my eyes too. But what we now understand is that the nervous system responds to rhythm and vibration, especially when paired with intentional breathing.

I wouldn’t be a sound bath facilitator today if a close friend hadn’t gifted me a small set of bowls while I was immersed in the study and practice of yin yoga, a challenging contrast to the high-intensity practices I was used to. I still remember the sound slowly dissolving into quiet when playing the bowls. On the other side of loud, I could finally hear my own breath.

That experience led me to complete a diploma in sound therapy and to immerse myself in the science of breathing, exploring breath as a bridge between mind and body.

We are all uniquely wired. We each find safety in different ways. For some, achieving calm, mentally and physically, means gently unraveling layers of habits and stored stress the body has been holding.

Alba is an invitation to prepare to lean into quiet, supported by sound and guided by breath. A practice of gentle movement and stillness. Sometimes hosted by me, sometimes in collaboration with yoga teachers, massage therapists, and musicians.

This space began as a longing for quiet in a noisy world. Something meaningful happens when we pause, when we sit with what’s here and reconnect with our breath.

Warmly,
Fefa

Why breath awareness?

As you read this, bring your attention to your breath. Ease your shoulders. Soften your jaw.  Notice the air moving in and out through your nose.

What changes?

Within the breath lies a powerful and practical tool to rest and regulate the body. A healthy breathing pattern supports us through the changing moments of the day — through activity and stillness, through busy work environments and celebration, through everyday life and special occasions. Breath adapts to where we are; we simply learn how to return to it.

The practices offered through Alba are simple and applicable. Many people feel the effects almost immediately, a clearer mind, a steadier body. With repetition, these tools become reliable anchors in different environments.

Breath is always available.
We simply practice remembering.

  • Absolutely. No experience is needed. Sound baths and breath practices are for everyone, regardless of background or flexibility. You simply lie down, listen, and let yourself be held by the sounds. Your body knows what to do.

  • This is completely normal and welcomed. There's no "right" way to experience a sound bath. If you need to move, adjust, or shift positions, please do. If your mind wanders, that's okay too. The practice is about meeting yourself exactly where you are.

  • Sound baths are generally safe and deeply relaxing during pregnancy. However, if you have a pacemaker, epilepsy, severe mental health conditions, or sound sensitivity, please reach out to me first so we can discuss whether this practice is right for you at this time.

  • Yes, children are welcome at group sessions if they can comfortably lie still for the duration. For families with younger children, I recommend booking a private session where we can adapt the practice to suit your family's needs.

  • Yes! Some people experience synesthesia: seeing colors, patterns, or lights while listening to sound. This is your brain processing the vibrations in a multisensory way. It's a beautiful and natural response. If this happens to you, I'd love to hear about it!

  • Yes! I host private sessions for birthdays, anniversaries, pre-wedding gatherings, new beginnings, farewells, or simply as a gift to yourself or your loved ones. Each session is personalized to honor the occasion and the people present. I'm also open to traveling: if you live outside Tasmania, send me an email at hello@albastudio.au and we'll explore the possibility.

  • I believe in holding space with gentleness and without judgment. My approach is rooted in listening: to you, to what your body needs, and to the moment we're in together. Whether you're coming for deep rest, to mark a life transition, or simply because you're curious, I'm here to meet you as you are. I also love collaborating with other practitioners to create unique experiences, so if you have an idea, let's talk.
